The U.S. Para-rowing documentary Trials: Finding the Medal is set to release on iTunes and Amazon Prime on Sept. 15 – ahead of the annual World Rowing Championships held in Sarasota, Fla.

Trials follows four elite American para-rowers as they train and compete for a spot on the U.S. National Team. The film has won numerous awards and has screened in over a dozen cities across the U.S. in the past year.

The film, directed by Daniel Koenig of Phoenix, follows the lives of Daniel Ahr and Joshua Langston-White of Medstar National Rehabilitation Network (NRH), Andrew Johnson of Community Rowing Inc., and Margaret Stran of Alabama Adapted Athletics. Over the course of seven months, each rower navigates life on and off the water with the goal of representing the United States at the World Rowing Championships.

“It’s great that we’re finally able to share this film on a wide scale,” Koenig says. “We began work on this documentary four years ago and believe it has the potential to do a lot of good for the awareness of para-rowing.”

Trials won Best Documentary Film at the Los Angeles Diversity Film Festival and Most Inspirational Film at the Follow Your Dreams Film Festival in Gilbert, Ariz. Trials is the first feature length documentary to be produced by Power 10 Films which is now in post production on a second documentary project following the University of Alabama’s wheelchair basketball teams.

Trials will be available to rent or purchase online via iTunes or Amazon Prime and DVD’s are available for purchase at
