Back to the Slopes-Getting Stronger
Monica continues her journey back to the slopes.
This week at Basics gym and I feel like I am getting stronger. I have increased the resistance, reps and weight to my workouts. I definitely felt sore the next day after the increase! I encourage people to eat something 15-20 minutes before you workout and drink plenty of water, I went directly after work without a snack and got a little dizzy. I will be getting a targeted massage this week to help with the soreness and recovery. I will be having a trainer session after the holidays (because I tend to get bored with my workouts) so meeting with a trainer will give me new ideas to keep me motivated.
Since I work during the week, I am planning out the weekends for my skiing lessons. When I write or talk about skiing it makes me nervous and gives me a lump in my throat. I know this is something that I want to do, so I am going to stay focused and relaxed. I have loved skiing since I was 4 and I want to replace the bad memories from my accident with good ones.
