A New Spin On Medicare Plans

Medicare beneficiaries have a new health-insurance option. As of September 1, 2000, Sterling Life Insurance Company has expanded its Option 1 plan to Medicare-eligible individuals in 25 states. Sterling's Option 1 is a Medicare+Choice private fee-for-service (PFFS) plan.

Plan for a Healthy Future

Women with spinal-cord injury need to prepare for the future when thinking about healthcare. Many individuals with SCI, as well as their physicians, operate in the "acute" mode—they deal with problems and issues as they arise. Not enough people make plans for a healthy future. Thanks to better healthcare, self-advocacy, and improved social programs, women with SCI must plan to live into old age.
