PVA national president to testify before the Senate and House Veterans' Affairs Committee

Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) National President Al Kovach, Jr. will present PVAs 2017 legislative priorities before the Senate and House Veterans’ Affair Committees

Kovach’s testimony will focus on PVAs top legislative priorities:

1) Protecting specialized services, particularly the VA Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) system of care;

2) Expanding eligibility for the VA comprehensive caregiver program to include pre 9/11 veterans and their families;

3) Reforming VA benefits and appeals process; and

4) Strengthening the systems and civil rights that support people with disabilities, including improving the Air Carrier Access Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act, and protecting the vital Social Security and Medicare benefit programs.

“We are among the most profoundly disabled, yet resilient, contingent of the veteran population,” says Kovach. “With all of the legislative priorities we have entered into the written record, none is more important to us than protecting specialized systems of VA healthcare.”

Kovack’s testimony will be available to see live via stream starting March 9, 2017 at 10:00am (EST).
