Trap Shooting Closes Out Season

Before the winter season hit, Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) trap shooting events had a frenetic fall, with a handful of events, including two in late October.

At the Arizona PVA Handgun Tournament, Doug Vann recorded the High Overall score, finishing with 288 points while Ed Hutchison took the High Overall Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) title with 266 points.

Vann hit 99 of 100 targets in doubles, 96 out of 100 in singles and 93 out of 100 in medium handicap. Hutchison totaled 94 in singles, 79 in doubles and 93 in short handicap.

Other winners included Gary Williams (A Singles), Keith Rheinhardt (B Singles), Joe Fox, Sr. (D Singles), Steve Williams (B Doubles) and Jim Russell (D Doubles). Helen Kistardt won Mid Yardage and Gordon Moye won Short Yardage titles.

Bill Palmer won the pistol title, finishing with a 368-point total, outdistancing Mike Smyth (342). Palmer totaled 194 points from the 15-yard range and 174 points from 25 yards out.

In the Lone Star Tournament, David Fambro finished with High Overall score (257 points), while Fox (225 points) recorded the High Overall SCI score.

Fambro hit 93 out of 100 targets in singles, 82 out of 100 in doubles and 82 out of 100 in short handicap. Fox totaled 85 in singles, 64 in doubles and 76 in short handicap.

Other winners included Dave David (A Doubles), Loren Homeier (C Doubles), Cary Gross (D Doubles) and Glen Bentley (D Singles). Gary Trenle won the Mid Yardage title, while Philip Daniel took the Short Yardage title.
