Oscar Mike is donating $10 of every apparel item sold throughout May to support PVA. The company makes, designs and prints military themed T-shirts, hoodies and accessories in the United States.

“Everyone who knows my story knows that Paralyzed Veterans of America has been a big part of everything I’ve done since my accident,” says Noah Currier, a paralyzed Marine veteran and owner of Oscar Mike. “They were with me in the hospital, through rehab and over the past 10 years. It’s a way for us to give back to Paralyzed Veterans.”

In 2003, just days after returning to Camp Pendleton from a seven-month deployment in Iraq, Currier suffered a C-6 spinal-cord injury as a result of an automobile accident caused by a trucker who fell asleep at the wheel.

Six years later, with the help of PVA, Noah discovered adaptive sports that helped him regain his confidence and discover the potential he had to continue to live a full, active and meaningful life.

Currier and fellow disabled veterans discussed the idea of creating Oscar Mike — military lingo for “on the move” — at the National Veterans Wheelchair Games. The Oscar Mike team includes five other paralyzed veterans, two of whom are on the company’s payroll.

Oscar Mike and its nonprofit Oscar Mike Foundation exclusively support PVA and Disabled American Veterans through donations, with 10% of all proceeds from the apparel company going to the foundation, and 100% of the foundation’s funds donated.

“We are so proud of our member, Noah Currier, for what he has been able to accomplish at Oscar Mike,” says PVA President Bill Lawson. “We are so honored and blessed that they have chosen to help raise awareness and critical funds for our organization.”
