Calvin Smith finished as the overall air rifle and pistol champion at the fourth Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) and Cal-Diego Air Rifle/Pistol Seminar and Competition, Jan. 27–28 in Point Loma, Calif.

Smith scored 529 out of 600 possible points to win the overall title at the Small Arms Range on the Point Loma Naval Sub Base. Pedro Aquino won the air rifle title, scoring 372 out of 400 points. Rosevelt Anderson (265/400) took the SH1 Air Rifle division, while Al Kovach (275/400) won the SH2 Air Rifle division. Stuart Lessig (347/400) won the Champion Open Air Rifle title and John Detamore (157/200) was the Air Pistol champion.

Thirteen disabled veteran shooters participated in the competition, which included 20 rifle rounds in prone position, 20 rifle rounds in standing position and 20 rounds with the pistol.
