PVA is teaming with Delta, Scootaround and Pride Mobility to develop a program for training baggage personnel how to safely and correctly load and stow passenger wheelchairs.

The new partnership will include the development of a virtual- and classroom-based program to train baggage handlers how to load, stow and unload wheelchairs.

Battery company MK Power will also help develop the training, with particular emphasis on power wheelchairs.

The new training program for baggage handlers is expected to launch this spring and start as a virtual platform. The hope is to eventually roll it out in a classroom format where PVA leaders and members will be involved.
