Ernest (Ernie) Butler is PVA’s new director of Sports & Recreation. Butler began his duties in July.

Butler comes to the national office after serving as executive director of the PVA Northwest Chapter since 2006. He was in charge of the day-to-day operations, which included overseeing the entire chapter’s sporting events. Butler also served as the chapter’s advocacy director.

A U.S. Air Force veteran and active PVA member, Butler earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Arizona State University.

Currently, Butler is also president/executive director of Camp ACCESS Foundation, a local summer camp program in Lake Stevens, Wash., that introduces children with a spinal-cord injury/disease to using specialized adaptive recreation equipment as it relates to sports and recreation.
