Veterans interested in joining the banking industry have a new tool available to them.

U.S. veterans are eligible to earn the American Institute of Banking’s (AIB) Military Banking Operations Diploma as part of their Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) educational benefits. The program is available online, making it uniquely accessible to veterans with disabilities.

The AIB program consists of 11 required courses with a total of 16 courses approved by VA.

Topics include principles of banking, economics for bankers, general accounting, and managing funding. Diploma candidates may also opt to substitute constructive credit from a military leadership course for the program’s courses on ethical issues for bankers and its super-visor certificate.
