Blue Water, White Water
Robert Samuels' book describes his battle with Guillain–Barre syndrome.

Humor, love and triumph are all part of a new book from longtime Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) member and prize-winning magazine editor Robert C. Samuels.
Blue Water, White Water tells the story of Samuels’s battle with Guillain–Barré syndrome. The disease destroys parts of the motor nerves, preventing them from transmitting information, and can affect breathing and speaking.
Samuels uses humor and suspense to explain his harrowing story of survival. Blue Water, White Water describes how his visit to the hospital for weakness in one side of his body led to months in medical facilities that required him to relearn how to eat and breathe on his own. Samuels uses the pages of his book to reveal his incredible optimism through all those challenges.
