If your holiday gift to yourself is a formal cruise, here's some practical packing advice from an experienced traveler on wheels.

Packing for a ten-day cruise requires careful planning to prevent disappointment or a catastrophe. Taking at least a week or longer to figure it all out is not necessarily easy—but it can almost be fun.
Step one begins with exploring what your intinerary includes, considering what you would like to do on or off the vessel, and deciding what to wear. Step two is obtaining luggage, followed by preparing your wardrobe and, hopefully, eliminating packing horrors.
