Patients and their families at the Shriners Hospital for Children in Tampa got a visit from the famous Wienermobile.
"Oscar Meyer Wiener Day" in Tampa included hot dogs, entertainment, and a chance to ride in the Wienermobile.
“Oh, I wish I were an Oscar Mayer wiener….” Most of us are familiar with this famous song lyric, which was heard loud and clear on January 8, 2011, when “Oscar Mayer® Wiener Day” took place at Shriners Hospital for Children® in Tampa.
Patients and their families were treated to hot dogs, games, entertainment, and prizes. The highlight of the event was a chance to ride in the famous Oscar Mayer Wienermobile™.
Shriners Hospitals for Children is a pediatric healthcare system of 22 facilities devoted to improving the lives of children by providing specialty care, research, and teaching programs. Youths up to age 18 with orthopedic conditions, burns, spinal-cord injuries, and cleft lip and palate are eligible for care. They receive all services in a family-centered environment, regardless of ability to pay. Shriners Hospitals for Children relies on the generosity of donors to deliver this mission.
